Dang It

The day after I get me 60mb XAMPP Lite server down to 40mb, the DSL team releases a new version which no longer requires a 60mb hard disk image… so now I have even more space free, and I didn’t need to replace the server! Oh well, I still have my IRC server portable… 😉

If you’re curious, grab the “embedded” version.  It’s great for running off of USB thumb drives.  You get a bootable Linux system as well as a pre-packaged Qemu to run the same distro in a virtualized environment.  The latest version, in addition to removing the HD image requirement (it uses the actual USB stick instead) also removes the Linux Qemu binary and shell script… oh well, no huge loss for me.
